Along with my 5 Sleep Tips (bottom of this page), but did you know there are essential oil supports that can help improve the quality of your zzz's?

Are you finding it hard to calm your mind down at bedtime? Or perhaps you find yourself blinking at the ceiling at 3:18 a.m. every single night? If the answer is (unfortunately) yes, then you are in very good company. Sleep issues ranging from challenges getting to sleep to difficulty staying asleep are a common problem among children and adults alike.

Aromatherapy 🛌

Lavender and Vetiver are two powerhouse essential oils that have a very beneficial impact on our sleep. Lavender, arguably one of the most popular essential oils (for a good reason!), has long been used for its relaxing, sedating properties. What’s not as common knowledge is that Lavender can be stimulating in large amounts so remember, less really is best. Vetiver is a grounding oil that has calming, sedative and tonic properties. In India and Sri Lanka it is known as the ‘oil of tranquility’. Doesn't that just make you feel cozy already?!

While Lavender and Vetiver work well on their own, they really shine when they are blended together. The combinations of essential oils in our Restful Slumber line brings out the best properties in each other, amplifying their benefits.

If you have a hard time falling asleep at night and counting sheep isn't doing it for you, spritz your pillows, pj's and bedding with the face | body | room | linen spray and diffuse 1-5 drops of the Restful Slumber blend prior to sleep. If you find yourself often waking in the middle of the night, take a few calming breaths of our Restful Slumber inhaler or roll on to centre yourself and help you drift off to dreamland.

All Restful Slumber products are available à la carte or in a trio featuring the essential oil blend, roll on and spray. The trio products were formulated to be used together as each blend and each application works differentlyThe roll on allows the essential oils to absorb in topically through the skin and into the bloodstream while the diffuser blend provides passive inhalation and the spray works through acute inhalation.

Amy’s 5 Sleep Tips

1. Light and Dark ☀️

Sunlight early regulates circadian rhythms. I use a therapy light in darker seasons. At night, I cover lights with tape and hang dark blankets over blinds so no light comes in at all. I also use a weighted blanket.

3. Schedule 🕰️

Consistent sleep/wake times stabilize sleep cycles. Early bedtime sets me up for a calm, unrushed morning. Whether it’s an hour of me-time or 5 minutes to stretch, it’s a must.

4. Nutrition & Exercise  🏋️‍♀️

Avoiding alcohol, sugar and snacks close to bedtime. Exercise during the day helps tire my otherwise busy mind so I fall asleep quicker.

5. Bedtime Habits 👂

Put your phone away. Wash & moisturize face, floss and brush.Bath, book, calm music, journalling or zentangling (aka calm doodling). I use my Restful Slumber Trio specifically for calming the mind and grounding to help sleep through the night that I only use at bedtime to make memory connection with scent and sleep. This combo targets both physiological and environmental factors to help with a restful sleep. 😴

Goodnight,
